Along Via Princessa near Sierra Highway, there’s a new coffeehouse that was started by a Santa Clarita resident with a passion for coffee. On June 18, Mugshot Coffeehouse opened up for business in Santa Clarita. Its owner, David Alfaro, a California native with a background in coffee and restaurant management, says he always pictured himself owning a business. He admits that he didn’t envision himself in Santa Clarita, but says that the best part of doing business in the city is that it’s where he lives.
“Living here, I know the community and how supportive they are. I couldn’t ask for a better place to be in business,” he told Visit Santa Clarita. Through Mugshot Coffeehouse, David is able to share his passion with other people, which is the best part about his job. “We take pride in all of our drinks. We make our own syrups from scratch. We serve organic teas. Even our food is made in house with fresh ingredients,” he says.
There are more than two dozen items on Mugshot’s menu, for first-time visitors, David says must-try beverages are the orange infused cappuccino and creme brûlée cappuccino.
In the coming years, Mugshot Coffeehouse aims to increase its coffee menu and research in different and unique coffee and tea drinks.
