If a day out on the links sounds more like your version of fun, you’ll be pleased to discover that there are five Santa Clarita golf courses to choose from. Stunning, lush golf courses are situated all over town.

Day one:

Vista Valencia Golf CourseStart your day early by grabbing some breakfast at the hotel to prepare you for your day of play! Once properly fueled, head to the driving range at Vista Valencia golf course. Practice your swing for a while, and then head to the Par 3 Chica course. There, you’ll get a warm up for your whole day at a Santa Clarita golf course tomorrow.

Once you’ve gotten your fill of the course, grab lunch at nearby BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. A favorite entrée is the oven-baked deep dish pizza with meatballs, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, white onions and seasoned tomatoes. Pair that with a garden fresh salad and that tops off a great mid-meal while on break from the course.  Don’t forget to save room for some Pizookie!  You’re never too old to enjoy the freshly baked, rich and delicious cookie topped with two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream and served in its own deep dish.

After you’re full from your Santa Clarita restaurant experience, head back to the hotel and relax by the pool after your morning at Vista Valencia and fuelling lunch.

Oaks-GrilleReady to go again? Although Tournament Players Club (TPC Valencia) is a private course, if you’re an avid golfer, you’re bound to know someone that has access.  Or you can always treat yourself to the beautiful TPC Oaks Grille Restaurant that sits atop the course and is open to the public. Dine on a gourmet seasonal menu featuring a balance of traditional Club favorites with more adventurous offerings prepared by an award winning chef. Dine on the patio outdoors or enjoy your meal in the beautiful glass enclosed Atrium. Just beyond the Atrium is the famed TPC Veranda, offering the best views in the city and overlooking the golf course’s eighteenth green.

Day two:

We know you want to get on the course early. Head over to one of the most popular Santa Clarita restaurants,  Egg Plantation, the restaurant opens at 6:00 a.m., the perfect time for those who love an early tee time. There you can choose from 101 omelets or any of their other breakfast favorites. This Food Network featured restaurant is a community favorite for their tasty dishes, and you’ll soon see why.

Just down the street from Egg Plantation is Roger Dunn Golf shop, where you can pick up some extra accessories, check out the latest gear, or shop for new golf attire.

VALLEY-photoJump on the 14 freeway for quicker access to Sand Canyon Country Club which offers an 18-hole course that’s on par with any world-class private club but that’s open to the public. Upon acres of unspoiled, unpretentious beauty lay a course that can be as challenging as it is enchanting. As you play, you’ll encounter gorgeous waterfalls while playing through beautiful California Sycamores and Coastal Live Oaks.

When you need a break head in and check out the Sycamore Bar & Grill.  The rustic burger which consists of a half-pound angus beef, bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, roasted garlic mayonnaise on toasted English muffin is sure to please your palate.

Lees-Wine-BistroAfter you complete your day enjoying Santa Clarita golf, be sure to check out one of the many Santa Clarita  restaurants along Town Center Drive, and then end the evening at Lee’s Wine Bistro which offers an elegant but cozy atmosphere with an outdoor patio. Unwind on the patio with a glass of wine and discuss your best drive of the day!
