Spring Break With The Kids

With the spring season in full bloom, now is the perfect time for a Santa Clarita vacation. There are fewer crowds in spring compared to the summer and with average temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, you can take advantage of our mild, sunny and pleasant weather.

The fun always starts at Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is currently running an Easter sale on season passes. Be sure to ride the newest and most exciting ride at the park. Enjoy original gameplay that takes place in a mixed virtual and augmented reality coaster experience. Battle to save the planet from an alien drone invasion on The New Revolution Galactic Attack, a thrilling, fully immersive virtual reality coaster.

Mountasia Family Fun Center is a local and family favorite mecca of entertainment. The 7 acre complex has mini golf, go karts, bumper boats, batting cages, Lazer Tag, a rock wall for climbing, and a fully stocked video game arcade. Enjoy a personal size pizza or delicious desert at Boardwalk Grille, Mountasia’s fun dining area.

Run, jump, slide and bounce the day away with your kids at Billy Beez. Described as the ultimate indoor play park, Billy Beez has slides, trampolines, colorful and padded obstacle courses and mazes and a ball blaster room with a geyser of soft foam balls and ball cannons – perfect for a good-natured ball battle. Even more fun…parents are encouraged to play alongside their kids.

Sky High Sports takes trampoline fun into a whole different stratosphere. You can practice your jumps and flips in the freestyle court or join others in an organized trampoline dodgeball game. You can also jump off a trampoline into a large pit filled with soft foam blocks or launch yourself into the air for an NBA style basketball dunk. Sky High Sports recently opened a Ninja Course, where you can run, jump, and swing through an obstacle course. There is a smaller trampoline area for younger children and a snack bar featuring pizza, wings, salads, sandwiches and more.

For a more quiet day out with the family, or maybe to settle the kids down after a long day of activity, why not take the family to any of Santa Clarita’s beautiful outdoor recreation areas?  Spending quality time with family and friends is easy to do at one of our many parks, along our trails and exploring our open space and nearby lakes.

Whether you are planning a family hike with the kids or a more difficult climb, you will find your new favorite spot right here on our Santa Clarita trails!  Be sure to check out HikeSantaClarita.com to learn more about our open space trails, where to go hiking, find maps and more!

Or you can go fishing, boating, jet skiing, swimming and mountain biking at the 9,000 acre Castaic Lake and Recreation Center. Or just enjoy the natural beauty of the California landscape along the picturesque banks of the Santa Clara River in Heritage Valley.
