Oak Flat Campground
2800-foot elevation that offers 27 campsites. Water is not available and Campsites are first come – first served. RV’s to 18′. Adventure Pass required for vehicles parked at this campground. From Castaic at intersection of I-5 and Lake Hughes Rd., take I-5 north 5.3 miles to Templin Hwy exit. Take Templin Hwy off ramp to end of ramp. Turn left and go 0.1 miles to “T” intersection. Turn right onto Golden State Hwy and go 3 miles to Oak Flats Fire Station sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.1 miles to campground (behind fire station). Open year round and an Adventure Pass is required.
Enjoy a swim in the outdoor pool, play a game of volleyball, basketball, horseshoes or hike the famous Pacific Crest Trail. You can even take a Safari tour at the Shambala Preserve next door. Our KOA is a short drive to California’s world-famous theme parks, shopping, dining, theaters, museums, and beaches. Play for the day at Six Flag’s Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, or Disneyland. Visit the L.A. Zoo or take a tour of Universal Studios Hollywood, do a little shopping on Rodeo Drive, or head to the beach for a day of fun in the beautiful California sun. From Los Angeles, Travel N on I-5, merge onto CA 14N toward Palmdale/Lancaster. Travel 11 minutes on 14N and take exit 11 on Soledad Canyon Rd. Bear to the left on exit ramp turn Right at stop sign. Go 8.5 miles on Soledad Canyon Rd. KOA on Left.
Lake Piru offers over 200 level tree-shaded camping sites, clean restrooms, free hot showers and fully stocked store to meet most camping and boating needs. Sites are available both with and without hookups. Motor homes, trailers and truck campers are welcome. Activities nearby include hiking, fishing and boat rentals.
