Walk of Western Stars
The film industry has called Santa Clarita home for nearly a century as legends like John Ford, William S. Hart and Gene Autry fell in love with the area’s versatility and authentic Western heritage. The tribute began in 1981 to honor legends of Western film, television and radio who have contributed to America’s heritage since 1900.

Tesoro Adobe
Built and owned by noted western film actor, Harry Carey, in the 1920’s and 1930’s. During Carey’s film career, he is credited with at least 233 movies; the western movie elite including John Wayne, William S. Hart, and Gary Cooper visited this beautiful sprawling ranch property.

Iron Horse Trailhead
This four-mile riding and walking path with the historic, 1898 railroad trestle bridge adjacent to Magic Mountain Parkway, connects to the South Fork Trail.

William S. Hart Park
William S. Hart, also known as “Two Gun Bill,” was the first cowboy movie star during the silent film era. He made almost 70 silent movies from 1914 to 1925, and donated his sprawling 265-acre ranch for the public to enjoy. The park features Hart’s home which is now a museum filled with his personal effects and movie paraphernalia, along with Native American artifacts and Western art. The William S. Hart Museum, a satellite of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, offers FREE guided tours year round and special events such as Music in the Mansion concerts, and A Day at the Ranch.

Castaic Lake
Castaic Lake is open every day of the year, except December 25th (Christmas Day). Park activities include boating, world-class fishing, hiking, walking, horseback riding, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, camping, picnicking, kayaking, sailing, and simply enjoying nature and the great outdoors. Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is a reservoir of the State Water Project. It is one of the Project’s largest recreational lakes and the terminal of its west branch. The site includes 29 miles of shoreline. A major attraction is the 425-foot-tall Castaic Dam. Castaic Lake has two bodies of water. Lower Lake is for non-power boating and canoeing. Swimming season on lower lake runs from mid-May to mid-September. The upper lake is for sailing, power boating, water and jet skiing, and fishing. The lake is stocked with bass, trout, and catfish. Boat rentals and a tackle bait shop are available. Other recreational activities include hiking, biking trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds!
