A Guide to Santa Clarita’s Farmers Market

Being part of Los Angeles County and just a short distance from Ventura County, it should come as no surprise that Santa Clarita’s farmers markets offer the freshest produce found in California. The fruit gets even sweeter as visitors will find there’s not one, not two, but three farmer’s markets right here in the city.

And each one is unique in their own way! Navigate your way around these rotating farmers markets with our guide that breaks down all the tips, tricks and must-haves for your spring vacation.

Find yourself visiting Santa Clarita on a Saturday morning and Old Town Newhall’s Farmers Market will be right there to greet you with live music and a happening scene. This certified market hosts plenty of family farms that offer fruit, vegetables, artisan bread and baked goods. Take a stroll through each booth and meet with vendors who want to share their passion with you!

Customize a bouquet of flowers from Patty Farms, pick up a jar of honey from Blue Ridge Honey or have authentic Armenian BBQ from Kebab Queen.

Tip: The market is open from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. but come as early as you can! Certain vendors have a limited supply, such as Des Croissants Paris with their widely popular hot cross buns.

Canyon Country Farmers Market

Let’s make Wednesdays the new Fridays! From 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., you can stop by the Canyon Country Community Center to peruse what local vendors and artisans have available for purchase. This beautiful market is one of the most recent additions to the city but has quickly captured the hearts of locals and visitors with its variety of foods. You can expect to find anything from spicy kettle corn to tasty desserts such as authentic Peruvian alfajores and Hawaiian shave ice.

Tip: This is Santa Clarita’s only nighttime farmer’s market, so come hungry because several vendors have a variety of hot meals that are perfect for dinner!

Santa Clarita Farmers Market

Part of the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association, this market paved the way for the additional markets in the Santa Clarita area. Pick out a basket of your favorite fruit, straight from the farms of Ventura. Order breakfast from any one of the cafes that will occasionally pop up, such as Busy Bee Café’s savory omelets. You can even choose from a wide selection of delicious baked goods that Old Town Baking Company makes themselves!

Tip: After enjoying your Sunday morning at the farmers market, spend the next chunk of your day at Six Flags Magic Mountain or Valencia Town Center, only a few minutes away.
