Girls Weekend

Pancake breakfast with strawberries, syrup, and butter at Egg Plantation restaurant in Santa Clarita.

When it comes to a girls-only weekend, girls just want to have fun! With wine tastings, luxurious spa treatments, fabulous shopping and dining destinations and much more, there’s no better place to toast your best girlfriends than Santa Clarita!

Day One

Any day of fun needs a good breakfast to get things started off on the right foot. Home to a variety of breakfast staples including pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict and French toast as well as 101 different varieties of omelets, there’s a good bet even the pickiest eater will find something to enjoy at the Egg Plantation. Specialty espresso drinks are available to perk yourself up as is a full bar that offers one of the best Bloody Mary’s in town! It’s a good idea to arrive early as this place draws a crowd or better yet meet up for a late  brunch!

With a hearty breakfast behind you, you’ll be ready for the drive out to Agua Dulce Winery. The 90 acre family owned winery is one of Los Angeles County’s leading wine producers and you and your friends are bound to have a wonderful time during the winery’s daily tastings. Offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., each session includes tastings of up to five of the winery’s award winning wines. In addition to the delicious wine varieties, Agua Dulce Winery also offers gorgeous views at every turn. Enjoy a light picnic while you take in the sights of the picturesque vineyard. Then, if you’re competitive spirit is feeling up to it, walk over to the gazebo and get a game of bocce ball going or visit the farm animals.

After an afternoon out enjoying the sunshine you’ll want to return to your hotel to relax. Take a nap or head over to the pool to embrace Santa Clarita’s perfect weather!

For dinner, how do tacos and margaritas sound? With great ambiance, big flavor and a long specialty drink menu, Solita Tacos & Margaritas is the perfect place for a girls’ night out! Start your meal off with the popular grilled corn elote appetizer which is a corn cob that has been roasted and topped with butter, chipotle salsa, California chiles, cheese and green onions. For an entree, you’ll have a hard time choosing just one dish as the menu is bursting with delicious flavor combinations and unique takes on traditional Mexican dishes. Perhaps you’d better order one of the restaurant’s signature watermelon margaritas to help the process along a bit?

After you’ve finished your meal, be sure to leave room for something a little sweet from Paradis Ice Cream. Open late for those dessert cravings, Paradis specializes in handcrafted ice creams and sorbets. All of their treats are made fresh every morning with quality ingredients, so every bite is sure to be an explosion of flavor. As an added bonus, all of the sorbets are vegan so everyone in your group can sample a little piece of Paradis.

An insider tip: be sure to order a second scone because once you’ve taken a bite, you won’t be interested in sharing.

After a lovely morning, you and the girls will be ready for an afternoon of shopping. Drive over to Valencia Town Center and explore the dozens of stores housed in the two-story indoor shopping facility. You’ll find all of your favorites here, from Apple, Anthropologie and Cotton On to Ann Taylor Loft, Fabletics and Pottery Barn. If you want to enjoy our southern California weather while window shopping, The Patios are calling your name! This beautiful outdoor shopping area boasts several koi ponds and comfortable seating options, in case you want to take a breather from shopping.

If you are eager to keep up the shopping, you can grab a quick bite to eat at one of the delicious food court eateries. If all that shopping has got you ready to drop, however, pop into Wokcano for a refreshing sushi lunch in the restaurant with a swanky vibe. Specializing in Asian fusion cooking, Wokcano not only offers an extensive menu of sushi and sashimi creations, but also unique takes on traditional dishes, like Mongolian beef and orange chicken.

Make the rest of the afternoon all about relaxation with a treatment at The Ivy Day Spa. Offering a wide array of services such as spas, saunas, world class massages, body treatments, facials, manicures & pedicures, your girls will thank you the moment they step through the doors.

For evening plans, grab an early dinner and get over to Board & Brush for your own DIY project.  Each workshop includes the opportunity to create a personalized wood sign, while having a drink and socializing with friends and family in a fun, energetic atmosphere.
